Meet Holly

Holly Hobzek LISW (she/her)

I have always had a passion for working with people who are struggling with difficult thoughts and emotions. Taking the time to build trust with a client is essential, especially when communication breaks down and despair seems to take over. I offer a nonjudgmental, compassionate environment and supportive approach to help clients gain understanding, build strategies in order to address the problems they face.

I am a licensed independent social worker specializing in current, evidence-based treatments for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, life stressors and family conflict. I have training and experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma focused CBT, Exposure Therapy with Response Prevention, and the Ross Green Collaborative & Proactive Solutions model and related approaches and adapting them to individual clients. I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, from The Ohio State University and completed a two-year postgraduate program in individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy from Harding Hospital. I have over ten years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings including Nationwide Children's Hospital Mood & Anxiety outpatient department, community-based outpatient clinics and in school settings.

In addition, I am an Ohio licensed teacher and spent five years working as an Intervention Specialist in the public schools. I have extensive experience working with students who have Individualized Education Plans and can assist parents in writing behavioral goals and advocating for their children.

I am originally from Cleveland Ohio, but Columbus has been my home for the past 34 years. I am married with three children and a poodle named Betty. In my free time I enjoy skiing, biking and spending time with my family.
